Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper Bruce Bvuma has asked for continued patience from the fans, as the club fights to secure a top-eight finish.
With two matches remaining, the Glamour Boys are at risk of ending the 2023-24 campaign outside the top eight.
Stuck in eighth place, Chiefs will face Polokwane City at home and Cape Town Spurs at Athlone Stadium before the season ends.
This campaign will mark a ninth consecutive trophyless season for Chiefs. Bvuma has urged the club’s faithful to continue supporting the team.
“They’ve got to have a little faith, as we do as players. We know a team of Chiefs’ calibre shouldn’t be talking about making the top eight. This is a big team; we all know that, and we know we didn’t have a good season.
“The main goal when the season started was to compete for the championship, but it didn’t happen.”
Bvuma, who was named in the latest Bafana Bafana provisional squad, insists they have to win their remaining matches to cement a top-eight spot.
“The last two matches are six-pointers, starting with Polokwane because they’re right behind us (equal on points).
“We know if we win this next game, it’s one less problem. We’ve put ourselves in this position, and we need to make sure we work hard so we can maintain the top-eight finish,” Bvuma added.
