After a nail-biting win in a Premier League showdown against Newcastle United, Man United’s manager, Erik ten Hag, rallied the spirits of fans at the stadium with an impassioned declaration of intent.

United kept alive their hopes of qualifying for European football with a 3-2 win at Old Trafford on Wednesday night, They are level on points with the Magpies in seventh.

Speaking to the crowd at Old Trafford, ten Hag assured them that the season was far from over, setting his sights firmly on FA Cup glory.

“On behalf of the players, the staff and myself, I want to thank you all for the brilliant support during the season,” he said.

“As you know, it wasn’t an easy season, but one thing remained constant and that was the backing of you for the team.

“But this season is not over yet. First, we travel to Brighton, where we go for three points, and then we go to Wembley. And I promise you that those players will give everything, everything to get that (FA) Cup, (to) win the cup and bring it to Old Trafford. And we are sure that you will be there supporting us.

‘We thank you, you are the best supporters in the world.’

Before the match, the Dutchman rejected assertions that United’s final home game could be his last at Old Trafford.

Man United will face Man City in the FA Cup final on the 25th of June.
