TS Galaxy head coach Sead Ramovic was left impressed by Kaizer Chiefs’ performance following the 2-2 draw on Tuesday evening.
Despite playing the entire second half with 10 men after Edmilson Dove’s red card in first-half stoppage time, the Glamour Boys were minutes away from snatching a deserved win over the Rockets.
Brace hero Sphiwe Mahlangu’s equaliser in the 76th minute ensured the spoils were shared at FNB Stadium. Chiefs had taken the lead twice through Ranga Chivaviro.
Ramovic insists they made it easy for Chiefs after failing to capitalise on early opportunities in the first half.
“It was the fifth game in 15 days, it’s unbelievable how we came into it with a lot of energy. Unbelievable opportunity after two minutes, we missed a goal from five metres, we had it again after 12 minutes, where the goalkeeper saved.
“And after that giveaway, we as a team made a mistake, we win together, we lose together, we had to come back, it is what it is. It was a clear penalty.
“We wanted to come stronger in the second half but after the free-kick we conceded again and it was not easy to come back because Chiefs defended very well but we showed huge character and I have to give a lot of credit to my guys,” Ramovic told SuperSport TV.
The Galaxy mentor further hailed Chiefs as a quality club deserving a place in the top three.
“I also want to congratulate this beautiful amazing club Chiefs, a very strong team, and I hope they will come back even stronger because Chiefs actually belong in the top three and I think in the future they will do things better because this is a quality club, beautiful supporters.
“All in all, we have five more games in front of us, we need points so we can reach our goal, to be in the top eight. We showed again a beautiful game but we just have to score the goals when we get these kinds of opportunities,” Ramovic added.
