Match week 34 kicks off on Saturday afternoon when West Ham host Liverpool at 1:30, who will be desperate not to lose any more ground on the leading teams (Arsenal and Manchester City) after 2 league defeats in 3 matches, to Crystal Palace and their old rivals Everton.
Premier League | West Ham vs Liverpool | 13:30
It has been a hugely disappointing few weeks for The Reds of Merseyside as they have seen their side exit the Europa League after a humbling 3-0 defeat at home to Atalanta, and now they seem to have blown their chances of winning the Premier League as well after some disappointing results.
Klopp’s side will be kicking themselves for the number of goal-scoring opportunities that they haven’t used this season, particularly Darwin Nunez, and they will surely be looking forward to the return of other forwards such as Gakpo and Jota, to maybe try something different again up front and get the goals flowing once more.
The Hammers are also on a bad run of form, however, having lost 3 of their last 5 matches in the league, winning just 1. They will be hoping to regain their form against a Liverpool side who could possibly be on the brink of a collapse in order to keep any chance they might have of European football next season alive.
Prediction: Both teams to score (yes) @ 1.44 | Liverpool win or draw @ 1.18
Premier League | Tottenham vs Arsenal | 15:00
Sunday afternoon’s action kicks off when Arsenal take on Spurs in a thrilling North London derby. The Gunners will be at the top of the table when they take on their rivals, and they will be looking to extend their lead over City and Liverpool.
They have been in brilliant form this season, more so since the start of 2024, most recently downing fellow London giants Chelsea 5-0 in a dominant display in front of their fans at the Emirates Stadium. Unlike Liverpool, Arsenal look like they have dusted themselves off after the shock home defeat to Aston Villa a fortnight ago.
The Gunners seem to be firing on all cylinders again and very ready for the derby. Spurs, on the other hand, have had a season of a little inconsistency, but a decent one overall. They are right in the top 4 race with Villa who are 6 points ahead of them, but have also played 2 matches more.
They have failed to capitalize on the games they’ve had in hand on a couple of occasions though, and their record over the last 5 matches (2 wins, 2 losses, 1 draw) sums up how inconsistent they have been this season. They will need their attackers to rise to the occasion if they’re to stand any chance of beating this incredibly confident Arsenal side.
Prediction: Draw or win for Arsenal | Over 3.5 total goals scored @2.18
Premier League | Nottingham Forest vs Man City | 17:30
Later on, City visit Nottingham Forest in the last fixture of the day. The Citizens will be desperate for a win to try and make sure that they return to the top of the Premier League after playing the games they have in hand. Relegation-threatened Nottingham Forest would have to put in a near-perfect shift to get a positive result against a City side going at full throttle for the league title.
With or without Haaland, City have proven to be able to find goals from anywhere in order to secure points, especially at the business end of the season.
Prediction: Straight win for City and that they will get a clean sheet.
