The FA Cup quarter finals get underway this weekend with Wolves hosting Coventry, Newcastle United travel to the Etihad while the biggest match of the weekend will be Man United vs Liverpool on Sunday. We take a closer look at these games.
16 March | Wolves vs Coventry | 14:15
Despite playing one division below their hosts, Coventry will look to capitalize on Wolves’ inconsistency as well as their poor defensive record, as they have struggled to get a run of more than two wins on the bounce going since the turn of the new year. Coventry has proven to be quite capable in front of goal, having scored 13 goals in their last four matches. Wolves have also proven to pose a real threat in attack, though their front men have lacked consistency. I see the likes of Cunha and Chan finding their way past the Coventry defense and creating plenty of goal-scoring opportunities.

16 March | Man City vs Newcastle United | 19:30
City takes on Newcastle in Saturday’s second FA Cup quarterfinal clash. Manchester City will be heavy favorites with the odds stacked in their favor and a 75% win probability. Pep Guardiola’s side has been in typically terrific form as they’ve been involved in the Premier League title race and put on a dominant display last time out in the FA Cup with a 5-goal haul from Erling Haaland in his first FA Cup appearance this season. The Norwegian will be hoping to dust himself up and quickly get back to scoring ways after a difficult outing against Liverpool last Sunday.
The Magpies have made a good account of themselves so far in their FA Cup run and have had one of the best goal-scoring records with 10 goals scored in just 3 matches. They will be hoping Alexander Isak and co. can maintain their great scoring record against the defending champions.
Prediction: Man City win @ 1.25 | Take this be now!

17 March | Chelsea vs Leicester City | 14:45
Chelsea host the Championship’s league leaders for the first clash of the FA Cup games on Sunday. After a fantastic run in the Carabao Cup, Chelsea will be hoping to get into another final this year with their league form still under scrutiny. The home side has gone four games unbeaten in the league, collecting two wins and a two draws during that time. They have been scoring goals for fun in the FA Cup leading up to this match, and with Leicester’s current form this should be a match full of goals. What should worry the visiting side the most is Chelsea have lost just one of their last 21 home games in the FA Cup.
Leicester have lost five of their last six FA Cup quarter-final ties, though the exception was their most recent one in 2020/2021 where they went on to lift the trophy.
Prediction: Over 3.5 goals @ 2.30 | Add this bet to your slip now by clicking here.
17 March | Manchester United vs Liverpool FC | 17:30
Manchester United won their last home game against Liverpool, defeating them 2-1 in the Premier League last season and will be hoping for a similar result when they meet The Reds. The home side hasn’t had a great run against Liverpool in recent years, though, failing to score in six of their last nine meetings in all competitions. With that said, Manchester United is not having their best season in the Premier League and will be keen to add at least one domestic trophy to their shelf this season.
Liverpool has already secured the Carabao Cup under their belt this season and has the experience to go all the way. While they’ve been eliminated by the Red Devils 10 times from the competition, I doubt they will exit this weekend.
Prediction: Both teams to score (yes) @ 1.53 | Take this bet now here!
