Mamelodi Sundowns head coach Rulani Mokwena expressed his satisfaction with getting a point in the Tshwane Derby against SuperSport United.
Despite taking the lead in the 30th through Man of The Match Tebogo Mokoena, Sundowns conceded an equaliser three minutes later as Bradley Grobler poked one for amaTsatsantsa.
The result continued Sundowns unbeaten run to 18 league games this season as they lead the log standings by 12 points.
“I’m happy for the players who haven’t been given a lot of game-time. We can’t win them all, can we? Happy to take a point and we move,” Rulani told SuperSport TV.
Rulani also explained the decision to bench Peter Shalulile and Tashreeq Matthews for the game. Sundowns attack had a new front three comprising Thembinkosi Lorch, Gaston Sirino and Matias Esquivel at Loftus Versfeld.

Rulani also explained his decisions to introduce certain players as the game wore on.
“Thapelo deserved some minutes. Mendieta has been very well in training, he also deserved some minutes.
“Peter, we are trying to manage him. Tash (Matthews) is struggling a bit because there is Ramadan. We wanted to start him but he’s struggling a bit because of the fasting.
“We could see when he came on a litte bit. But they have to try, have to give their best and we’re happy with their effort,” added Rulani.
This weekend Sundowns will turn their attention to the Nedbank Cup where they face Maritzburg United in the Round of 16.
