Abafana Bes’thende succumbed to their 11th straight defeat at FNB Stadium as they were beaten 1-0 by Amakhosi.
Wandile Duba scored the only goal of the match in the 11th minute, curling a beautiful shot from the edge of the box after collecting Pule Mmodi’s pass.
Khenyeza was left ruing his side’s inability to convert opportunities as they had total control over Chiefs.
“It’s been the same story like i said earlier on, we created chances, I think we were supposed to convert two chances. In the second half we dominated the game. I think Chiefs only had the opportunity to score the goal in the first half, after that we were on top of them.
“We dominated the game but now they are just leading us and we’re trailing. Even in the second-half we dominated the game totally, we were supposed to get something.
“I think we need to push the boys because it’s our responsibility as football coaches to stay stronger and to boost them. In terms of playing and matching other teams, we’re matching them but at the end of the day we need to win.
“Again if we show any signs tat we collapsing as coaches. It’s all about the players, lot of games to go, we will push. Our technical team is very strong mentally, at the moment we’re in this bad patch but we’ll keep on going,” Khenyeza told SuperSport TV.
The last Arrows won a league match was in October last year when they defeated the Glamour by 2-1 at Mpumalanga Stadium, Hammarsdale.
Khenyeza says he will shoulder the blame for the team’s poor results.
“Infront of everything I’ll take the blame but we’ll keep on pushing the players. We need to keep to protect the players because these are professionals, they still have a long way to go in their careers.
“We need to sit down with them and encourage them, we can’t hang players, in our team we don’t blame players, we do each and everything as a team, if we suffer we suffer as a team, and if we succeed we succeed as a team, we don’t point fingers to anyone,” added Khenyeza.
