Nedbank Cup | Khenyeza in revenge mood ahead of TS Galaxy return
Lamontville Golden Arrows coach Mabhudi Khenyeza says revenge is the only dish he is ready to serve when his charges host TS Galaxy in the Nedbank Cup round of 32 on Friday.
Galaxy were victorious in the recent fixture between the two teams, claiming a 3-1 league win over Abafana Bes’thende at Mbombela Stadium this past Sunday.
Khenyeza says his team is motivated to improve on their recent defeat. The former AmaZulu assistant coach is adamant that the challenges he is facing will equip him for the better.
”So much is building me up, just dealing with different situations. I have learned to remain positive as a leader, I’m also grateful for the support from the management.
“The position we find ourselves in is teaching me a lot, what I am learning now is preparing me for the path I am taking as a coach,” said Khenyeza.
Arrows are on a run of seven successive defeats in all competitions. The last time Arrows tasted victory was on 23 October, when they beat Kaizer Chiefs 2-1 in the league.
Khenyeza has urged his side to fight relentlessly in their upcoming games.
“Every game is important, even cup competitions are important. The boys need to go all out for the team to succeed.
”We tried all we could this past Sunday, but it wasn’t to be. Looking at the upcoming Nedbank Cup clash, we have to get revenge,” he added.
Arrows suffered elimination at the hands of the Rockets in the Nedbank Cup in 2019. Despite leading the match 1-0 by the 90th minute, Galaxy equalised in added time and scored two extra-time goals to seal qualification to the next round.
