Mamelodi Sundowns attacking midfielder Thembinkosi admits he produced an underwhelming performance against former side Orlando Pirates in the weekend.
Debuting at a fully packed Loftus Versfeld, Lorch lasted 62 minutes and was eventually with Sipho Mbule.
Lorch had not impact on the game, which ended 1-1 with the visitors coming from behind despite being 10 men down. He was regularly booed by Pirates fans whenever he touched the ball.
“It was never going to be easy because I was playing against my former team and you also heard the supporters booing me.
“I think from my performance today, I need to take it a bit higher. What Ronwen Williams said to me gave me motivation and reassurance that the guys are behind me. I must just play my normal game.
Even the coach told me not to put myself under pressure and just play my normal game,” Lorch told Sundowns media.
Lorch (30) says he wasn’t pleased with his performance although he believes they should have won.
“It wasn’t an easy game. I’m just happy that I got an opportunity to play but I’m not happy with the result that we got.
“I think I didn’t have a good game. It was my first game and I need to go back and do corrections to see where it went wrong because we should have won this game,” he added.
Nyoso will hope to do better in Sundowns next game as they battle La Masia in the Nedbank Cup last 32. The match is scheduled for Dobsonville Stadium on Tuesday.
Rulani’s men were eliminated by Stellenbosch FC in the quarter-finals of the Nedbank Cup last season.
