Moroka Swallows head coach Steve Komphela insists he has not been denied access to the club’s training facilities, but is awaiting a definitive response from the management regarding his situation.
Komphela has not reported for training since the club resumed preparations for the second round of the season.
There had been rumours that the club was
refusing to allow Komphela to lead training sessions.
The experienced coach says he is still awaiting a response from the management
“I haven’t been denied entry, I am still waiting for our front office to communicate intentions.
“Because, as I said on the 22nd of December just before we played Mamelodi Sundowns and on the 30th December when we were supposed to play Golden Arrows, both matches got cancelled and the season was ended.
“And then further on a message was sent to say the preseason should not start until further notice. And that further notice has not come. I haven’t been to Moroka Swallows with respect.
“And I have not been at the training facilities so I don’t know the story that I was not allowed in, or where does it come from? I’m still waiting.
“Anyway, the season starts next week. Maybe there will be a change for us to find sanity and find a way forward. But as if I’m just looking at the pitch and watching the movie unfold,” Komphela told Thabo Mosia of Radio 2000.
Musa Nyatama and Ditheko Mototo have been leading training sessions in the absence of Komphela.
The Dube Birds will resume their league campaign with an away fixture against third placed Cape Town City.
Due to the national team landing in the country on Wednesday, the PSL announced the postponement of all midweek fixtures. New dates will be announced in due course.
