Opinions are divided after Manchester United head coach Eric Ten Hag pointed out why his treatment of Marcus Rashford has been different from that of Jadon Sancho.

Speaking at a press conference, the Red Devils’ boss commended Rashford for keeping the matter “internal,” something he feels Jadon Sancho failed to do.

Manchester United has endured an underwhelming first half of their 2023/24 season, finding themselves slipping lower and lower down the pecking order in the Premier League. United currently lies 9th on the table, a position that is unfamiliar to a club of their stature.

This, in turn, has piled incredible pressure on the players and coaches to try to turn things around swiftly. However, the United boss has not changed his autocratic approach in managing the side, ruthlessly exiling the likes of Ronaldo and Sancho for publicly criticizing his methods and tactics.

It seemed as though Rashford might also join the infamous list to get in the Dutchman’s bad books, with the misfiring forward claiming to have been ill after partying up a storm. However, Rashford quickly acknowledged his wrongdoing and now finds himself back in the United team after missing just one game.

Ten Hag promptly shut down any further inquiries on the matter, calling it “internal” and a “closed case.” Some have found this decision ironic, as the manager claimed the issue with Sancho was his talking to the media about dressing room matters when the manager was the first to bring the matter up publicly.
