Coach Hugo Broos is confident South Africa will successfully navigate a relatively quick turnaround between Sunday’s win over Namibia and today’s fixture against Tunisia.

Bafana Bafana recovered from a 2-0 defeat to Mali to beat Namibia 4-0 and, if victorious over Tunisia, will advance to the Africa Cup of Nations round of 16.

“As I said, we have one day less than Tunisia after playing two games. I think with the victory of Sunday and what I saw yesterday in training, it won’t be really a problem,” said Broos.

“I think the motivation is so high, so big in our team, the mentality is so good and they know they can achieve something that we all wished we came here.

“I think they are ready to go to the limit and they will fight for every metre and second of the game to have a good result and achieve the second win, too.”

Broos hailed the positive impact of Bafana Bafana’s support staff, which includes strength and conditioning coach Kopano Melesi and team analyst Sinesipho Mali.

“Its very important and maybe now the physical coach is the most important. He has to show us and tell us what we can do and how we have to do it,,” added Broos.

“We have to try to recuperate the team before kick-off. You need to be very careful of fatigue.

“But I’m not worried about it. I see the players and how they are in training, they enjoy it and that’s important, we will be ready.”

South Africa beat Tunisia  in 1996’s AFCON final. This is Bafana’s only AFCON title. They were runners-up in 1998.
