Recently announced Chippa United co-coach Thabo September is confident of adding value to the remainder of the Chill Boy’s DStv Premiership campaign amidst their struggles for consistency.
September and fellow co-coach Kwanele Kopo were appointed earlier this week, after former head coach Morgan Mammila was moved to a technical director role.
“I am conscious that it might be that I get fired if it doesn’t work out, but I am also optimistic that I will add value and achieve the objective of saving the status of the team,” September told the Sowetan.
“There’s always two sides of a coin. I think the club’s reputation of firing coaches is the reason why some people are skeptical about my decision to join, but I focus on the positives.”
September previously worked with SuperSport United in the Diski Challenge – and joins a Chippa United outfit that are currently in 13th position on this season’s PSL points table.
“It’s a step in the right direction for me. Yes, it came unexpectedly but life is just about taking opportunities,” he added.
“I don’t know if I was ready to be the head coach of the DDC team at SuperSport, so time will tell if I am ready for my first head coaching gig in the PSL with Chippa.”
