Moroka Swallows’ DStv Premiership fixtures for the remainder of the year have been cancelled due to a dispute between players and management.
Swallows were scheduled to play Mamelodi Sundowns on Wednesday and Golden Arrows on Saturday.
“On behalf of Moroka Swallows, an apology is extended to all affected parties due to the cancellation of the games against Sundowns and Arrows,” read a statement from the club.
“Due to an unresolved dispute between players and management; that has resulted in management having to request cancellation of the two remaining games of this year from the PSL, to allow it time to correct the situation.
“Management would like to assure everyone within and outside the club that the process of finding one another will soon be found. It has been resolved that no further details will be officially given until an update from the club is issued.”
Swallows currently occupy ninth position on the 2023-24 PSL points table.

Meanwhile, Sundowns players arrived at Loftus Versfeld on time yesterday and walked out to the pitch in the presence of a fourth official. It remains to be seen whether the DStv Prem champions claim full points for yesterday’s game.
