Cape Town City captain, Thami Mkhize, is aiming to end the year with back-to-back victories in the DStv Premiershio as they look to challenge Mamelodi Sundowns for the title.

City are in fourth position on the 16-team PSL points table ahead of fixtures against Mamelodi Sundowns and Cape Town Spurs.

They will play Sundowns on Christmas eve and Spurs on new year’s eve. Both matches will be played at Cape Town Stadium.

“We’ve got an opportunity to play in front of our supporters. And the club has been doing well. And we’ve been sitting in a respectable position,” Mkhize was quoted as saying by iDiski Times.

“So for us, I feel it’s more important that, especially for these two games, we go all out and make sure that we collect maximum points at home. And we apply ourselves so that we can be able to win these games.”

Sunday’s clash with with Sundowns will be midfielder Thabo Nodada’s 200th professional cap for City. He will welcome the milestone appearance against the reigning PSL champions.

“I would say we will be celebrating a lot of things because I’m sure you’re well aware that we also going to be celebrating Thabo for reaching his 200th game,” added Mkhize.

“So, for us, I was talking to Thabo, I’m saying to Thabo most of the time, for the seven years that we’ve been here in Cape Town, our last games of the first round, we normally finish Sundowns away from home.”
