Australia kept themselves alive in the series with a stunning chase in the third T20I after India had piled on the runs.

India might feel they have let Australia off the hook, and the tourists are now quite dangerous.

The Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Cricket Stadium in Raipur will host a T20 International for the first time.

India

Ruturaj Gaikwad has been in brilliant form and headlined the performance in midweek despite the India loss.

India likely felt that a few of the support acts to Gaikwad could have done more to push up the tempo rather than trying to feed strike to the aggressor.

Their bowlers could also do nothing to put the breaks on when Australia got rolling towards the target.

The new ball bowlers lack experience, but they will learn painful lessons that will stand them in good stead moving forward.

Australia

Australia showed their resilience in sealing a victory in a must-win match and a pressure chase led by Glenn Maxwell yet again.

Maxwell is the kind of batter who sends belief radiating through a batting lineup when he really gets going and his knock will be a lift to the team in much the same way as his World Cup hundred against Afghanistan was a turning point.

India batted well against all Australian bowlers except Jason Behrendorff, whom they struggled to get off the square with the left-arm quick completing four overs in the third T20I at the cost of just 12 runs in an India innings where they scored 222.

English-born allrounder Aaron Hardie took a pasting in the third match and will need to find a way to offer more on these kinds of surfaces or risk being little more than fodder.

Verdict: Australia Win

Australia have the belief behind them now and will be tough to stop after a big win in match three of the series.
