Sekhukhune United on Monday announced Lehlohonolo Seema as their new coach after pricing him away from neighboring Polokwane City.
Seema has succeeded former head coach Brandon Truter, who exited earlier this month.
Seema previously captained Orlando Pirates and was rumored to be on his way to either Cape Town Spurs or Babina Noko.
“I’d like to take this opportunity to thank chairman Simon Malatji for having afforded me an opportunity to lead the team,” said Seema.
“I’m most appreciative of how the negotiations between my management team and the club were handled, in a respectable and candid manner. There is obviously a lot ahead of us and therefore I have to hit the ground running.”
Sekhukhune United currently occupy 12th position in the 2023-24 PSL standings. They have won four, drawn two and lost six matches. Their next DStv Premiership fixture will be against Chippa United on 29 November 2023.
“I don’t wish to make any promises except to offer my work ethic and dedication to the club and its supporters,” added Seema.
Sekhukhune United, meanwhile, have also parted ways with goalkeeper coach Johan Abselon.
Makhubedu has been interim coach for their past two matches and remains to his position as assistant coach, the club said in a statement.
