Mamelodi Sundowns defender Mosa Lebusa has echoed captain Themba Zwane’s ambition of winning this season’s CAF Champions League.
Sundowns won the inaugural African Football League title earlier this month. They beat Wydad Casablanca 3-2 on aggregate across a two-leg final.
“Since I came into this club, we have a winning culture and I just want to keep winning. Winning the Champions League is a feeling I’ve never experienced and I would like to win it,” said Lebusa.
“After all, in the Champions League last season, the very same team knocked us out at the same stadium in front of our supporters, so we had to make sure we don’t repeat the same mistake in the AFL final.”
Sundowns have been pooled with Nouadhibou, TP Mazembe and Pyramids in group A of the CAF Champions League.
Sundowns, who are the reigning Premier Soccer League champions, have not won the CAF Champions League since 2016.
“I want to win the CAF Champions League again and obviously win something with the national team. There’s African Cup of Nations coming. If I can get that one, I would be happy,” said Zwane last week.
