Captain Themba Zwane has turned Mamelodi Sundowns’ attention to the CAF Champions League after winning the African Football League title.
Sundowns beat Wydad Casablanca of Morocco across a two-leg final to win the inaugural AFL title on Sunday.
Sundowns have been pooled with Nouadhibou, TP Mazembe and Pyramids in group A of the CAF Champions League.
Sundowns, who are the reigning DStv Preemiershuip champions, have not won the CAF Champions League since 2016.
“I want to win the CAF Champions League again and obviously win something with the national team. There’s African Cup of Nations coming. If I can get that one, I would be happy,” said Zwane.

Zwane has been included in South Africa’s squad for this month’s FIFA World Cup qualifying fixtures against Benin and Rwanda.
These will be their final fixtures prior to early 2024’s Africa Cup of Nations campaign in Ivory Coast. Bafana Bafana have been grouped with Mali, Namibia and Tunisia for AFCON.
