Magesi FC head coach Clinton Larsen has responded to reports linking him to a role at the DStv Premiership side, Royal AM.
The reports connecting Larsen to Royal AM began circulating last week after the KZN side suffered their fourth successive league loss away at SuperSport.
Thwihli Thwahla’s head coach, John Maduka, was the first to come out and deny any knowledge of another coach joining his technical team or his replacement, as the team has only won twice in nine games so far.
Now, Larsen has also clarified his position and his absence from Magesi’s bench over the weekend.
“Well, there is nothing to talk about because I went home to see my family. My family had an emergency,” said Larsen.
“I left on Thursday and returned yesterday. These are just rumors. We have a very good relationship with the management, myself, and the players.
“I believe that if there were any destabilizing factors, the team wouldn’t be performing as well as it has, and we wouldn’t be achieving the results we’ve been getting. I don’t tolerate interference.
“So, those reports are just rumors; they’re not true, and I’d like to clarify that fact.”
Magesi is currently in third place on the Motsepe Foundation Championship log with 18 points from 10 matches, which is four points behind the leaders, Orbit College.
